Eligibility for PM Vishwakarma Scheme
- Traditional artisans: Individuals engaged in any of the 18 listed trades such as carpentry, blacksmithing, pottery, tailoring, barber, goldsmith, mason and others.
- Age: Minimum 18 years at the time of registration.
- Work status: Should be engaged in the trade as a self-employed worker or artisan.
- Not eligible: Government employees and their family members, income tax payees, and beneficiaries of certain other credit support schemes.
Key Benefits of the Scheme
- Collateral-free loans: First tranche of up to Rs 1 lakh, and a second tranche of up to Rs 2 lakh (total up to Rs 3 lakh) at a concessional interest rate with government interest subvention.
- Skill training: Basic training of 5-7 days with a stipend, followed by advanced training with a higher stipend.
- Toolkit incentive: One-time support of up to Rs 15,000 to purchase modern tools and equipment.
- Market support: Assistance with branding, packaging, digital payments and e-commerce onboarding.
How to Apply for PM Vishwakarma
- Visit the official PM Vishwakarma portal (pmvishwakarma.gov.in) or the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC).
- Complete the registration form with your basic details, trade and Aadhaar information.
- Submit the application and note the registration number for future reference.
- After verification, participate in the skill training program at the designated training centre.
- Once training is complete, apply for the toolkit incentive and credit support through the portal.
