Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana - Urban (PMAY-U) aims to provide housing for all in urban areas by 2022 (extended). The mission provides Central Assistance to Urban Local Bodies and other implementing agencies.
Four Components
- In-Situ Slum Redevelopment (ISSR): Using land as resource to provide houses to slum dwellers
- Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP): Partnership with public/private sector for affordable housing
- Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS): Interest subsidy on home loans
- Beneficiary-Led Construction (BLC): Individual house construction/enhancement

Economically Weaker Section (EWS) - income up to ₹3 lakh, Low Income Group (LIG) - ₹3-6 lakh, Middle Income Group (MIG-I) - ₹6-12 lakh, Middle Income Group (MIG-II) - ₹12-18 lakh.
